Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Database Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize database systems to ensure high availability, performance, and security. The ideal candidate will be responsible for database design, backup and recovery, performance tuning, and supporting application teams with reliable data solutions.
Responsibilities:
– Install, configure, and maintain database management systems.
– Monitor database performance and optimize queries and indexing.
– Manage database backups, recovery, and disaster recovery plans.
– Ensure database security, access control, and data integrity.
– Perform database upgrades, migrations, and patch management.
– Troubleshoot database-related issues and provide quick resolutions.
– Support developers with database design and optimization.
– Maintain documentation, reports, and operational procedures.
– Ensure high availability, replication, and scalability of databases.
– Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams for system reliability.
Requirements and Skills:
– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
– 3–6 years of experience as a Database Administrator or similar role.
– Strong knowledge of MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or SQL Server.
– Expertise in SQL, query optimization, and indexing strategies.
– Experience with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
– Knowledge of database security, roles, and permissions.
– Familiarity with Linux/Windows server environments.
– Experience with replication, clustering, and high availability.
– Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
– Proven hands-on experience in database administration.
– Ability to work independently and manage multiple databases.
– Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
– Good communication and teamwork abilities.
