Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated Collection Officer to join our team. The Collection Officer will be responsible for contacting clients and customers to collect outstanding payments and resolve any overdue accounts. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of experience in collections, strong communication skills, and the ability to negotiate payment terms effectively.
Responsibilities
– Contact clients and customers regarding overdue payments and outstanding accounts
– Negotiate payment plans and terms to settle accounts
– Maintain accurate records of all collection activities
– Follow up with clients to ensure payment arrangements are being met
– Identify and resolve any issues or disputes related to outstanding accounts
Requirements and Skills
– 1 year of experience in collections or a related field
– Excellent communication and negotiation skills
– Strong attention to detail and accuracy
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team
– Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry
– Knowledge of collection laws and regulations
– Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Qualifications
– High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
– Previous experience in a collections role
– Familiarity with collection software and systems is a plus
– Professional certification in collections is an advantage
