Sourcing and Screening Candidates: Identify potential engineering candidates through various channels such as job boards, social media, networking, and referrals. Evaluate candidates’ resumes and portfolios to assess their qualifications and suitability for engineering roles.
Interviewing and Assessing: Conduct interviews (phone, video, or in-person) to gauge candidates’ technical skills, experience, and cultural fit. Use technical assessments or tests as needed to evaluate candidates’ capabilities.
Building Talent Pipelines: Develop and maintain a network of potential candidates for current and future hiring needs. Proactively build relationships with engineering professionals to understand their career aspirations and match them with suitable opportunities.
Collaboration with Hiring Managers: Work closely with hiring managers to understand job requirements, team dynamics, and organizational culture. Provide insights and recommendations based on market trends and candidate feedback.
Candidate Experience: Ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment process. Keep candidates informed about their application status and provide feedback when appropriate.
Offer Negotiation and Onboarding: Facilitate offer discussions between candidates and hiring managers. Coordinate the onboarding process to ensure a smooth transition for new hires.
Qualifications:
Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with engineering disciplines, technical skills, and industry-specific terminology.
Recruitment Expertise: Proven experience in recruiting for engineering roles, understanding of recruitment best practices, and ability to use recruitment tools and software effectively.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to engage with candidates, hiring managers, and other stakeholders.
Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to assess candidate qualifications and make informed decisions under tight deadlines.
Relationship Building: Strong networking and relationship-building skills to cultivate a talent pipeline and collaborate effectively with team members.
Bachelor’s Degree: Typically required, preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
The JD may vary based on the specific needs of the recruiting organization and the engineering sectors they focus on (e.g., software engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering).
